is it possible to get 2 PhD?

G

Hello everybody,
I am currently doing a PhD in structural biology (biochemistry) in one country of european union. I should defend soon. Is it possible to do another PhD (let´s say pharmacology) in another european country?
Thanks

G

I'm sure it's possible but why would you want to? It would be a sideways move. It would be better for your career to look for a postdoc position in a pharmacology related field. Good luck with your thesis defence, I have mine in a matter of weeks, it's a scary time! :o)

Yes, but what for? You should be trying to get a postdoctoral position which will allow you to move in to pharmacology.

Good Luck Ann This forum is richer because of people like you. I am sure you will do well in the thesis defence.

Dear Dimu, Thank you very much for your kind comments, I'm touched! :oD

Thanks for your idea and replies.
I explain you why I am thinking to make another PhD. The PhD I did till now (even though it is not finished yet: I am jusy waiting some corrections and I hate to wait) was all related to computational biology.

No real work in the lab. I would like to make experimental work as well... Thats´s why I ask this question.
I think anybody can take me to work in the lab if I do not have such experience.
However speaking with one Prof. it seems it is not so obvious if a person can take two PhD...
