I am looking for research topics around cloud computing and Big Data. I have a list of topics and am yet to develop them into research proposals. Am just wondering if anyone has sources to research topics/proposals on Cloud Computing and Big Data that they can point me to? I am looking to undertake a Ph.D programme in these areas.

Have you identified a potential supervisor/research institution? It might be helpful to develop the proposal in consultation with a supervisor who can guide you as to what kind of level of content/detail is required for a PhD. It might also be worth looking at pre-funded adverstised PhDs; I imagine there would be a far number in this growing area.

I have not spoken to a supervisor yet. I was hoping to develop my research proposals to some degree before talking informally to supervisors and before applying for any PhD program. I was hoping this would enable me to have enough materials to be able to have a chat with them regarding my research interests. Most of the advertised PhD programmes do not fit my specific requirements as such so I might have to end up custom research program.
