MBA or MA

G

Hi All,
Starting from september i will be a final year student at DMU I am studying BSc(hons) in Software Engineering.
I wish to study further but i am not very sure what to do first i had a plan of doing masters and then a phd, but then i read up on MBA now i am confuse i am not sure whether to do MBA or Masters. Are these equal? whats the difference between the 2? and going on to the same dirrecion i do wish to choose subject along the line of Software Engineering. Many Thanks.

There is a big difference between an MA and an MBA. Appart from the fact that it costs much more to do an MBA (they are very expensive) you usually need a few years business experience in order to be accepted on the course.

Thank you for your reply.
I am not very worried about the cost I want to do acourse with a high level of. which one holds more value? if MBA holds more value then MA then i am ready to gain experience ane then apply for it.
Thanks

In business circles the MBA carries more weight. It is regarded more as a professional qualification than an academic one. MBA stands for Master of Business Administration, meaning they teach you how businesses work and how to run one. We are not aware of any MBA's in Software Engineering - Information Management would be the closest thing.
