New scientific event search resource for students and PhD students (Linkference)

A

Dear PostgraduateForum.com readers,

my name is Andrea Schirru, I am currently a post-doc researcher at University of Pavia, Italy.

I am writing to you regarding a freshly launched web service, http://www.linkference.com (or, as we like to call it, "the social scientific events directory").

The idea behind Linkference is to provide students and PhD students with a comprehensive list of scientific events, highlighting the ones that match their scientific interests. Furthermore, we give the possibility to get in contact with other scientists that are going to attend the same events as you, and share your scientific interests.

The original thought was to provide our users (mainly students, we expect) with an easy way to extend their scientific network and find interesting events, thereby facilitating their academic careers.

The website has been online for very few days, and after a restricted closed alpha, we are starting to spread voice to interested parties all over the world. Your help and feedback are very valuable to us, so thank you in advance! Of course, the service is entirely free.

Let me remind the URL once again: http://www.linkference.com

Best regards,
Andrea Schirru
