I will be submitting my thesis in India on plant biotechnology and will be moving back to united states, I am not sure what documents I should collect which can confirm my thesis submission in Indian university.
your valuable information in this regard will be greatly appreciated.

hi Anand
perhaps you may request for a letter from your indian university saying you have submitted. Your study visa will also confirm that you were there. The best place to ask would be your university; start with your supervisor :-)

Thanks for your reply, I will be here on dependent visa of my spouse.
I am not sure what will be options for me here in united states after submitting my thesis, in India after submitting thesis we get eligible for posts advertised for Ph.D, not sure how does it go here in United States.

hi anand, I didn't realize that you were an Indian national, I thought you were from the USA and going back after doing phd in India. India is a great place for education. I have some friends who study medicine there. My high school chemistry and biology teachers also came from India. I think there should be lots of options for you in the USA :-) There should be something for you, whether you have to have the phd degree at hand or not. First of all, double-check with the US visa center your eligibility to work on a dependent visa; and start looking at the advertisements! I'm sure you'll find something. Remember to get the letter from your indian university to say you've submitted :-) Also if you have your old registration form that says you were admitted for phd from say 2007 to 2010.. make a copy and get a notary to sign on it. Bring it with you.
