Hi there!

I have been talking to a "Senior research fellow" at my old university. I told him I was looking to do a phd and asked if he could help. He said there was a funded project comming up soon and that I could join the research team.

I don't fully understand this though. If I will be working on a project with a bunch of other people, surely I can't just go ahead and write up my own phd on that project? Or is it the case that I pick a specific niche area in this project and do my phd on this???

Hi invogue, I think you are right when you say that you pick a niche area of the larger project to focus on - can anyone else confirm this?
