PhD in medicine

G

Hi, originally i'm from Russia, but i live in England and i'm UK resident. I qualified in Russia as Cardiologist and I'd like to continue my education, doing PhD in UK. Questions: Where can I do PhD (university)? Is it possible to mix it with clinical work? How long does it take in that case? Where else could i find the information about this?
Thanks in advance

As a clinician you should be able to find a PhD which allows you to maintain your current salary (much to the annoyance of most other people who do a PhD). You need to find an academic supervisor who is already working in the area which you are interested in researching. Write to them and outline your research proposal asking if they will accept you for a PhD.

Thank you for answer. I'm a cardiologist, but I don't work here yet. Now I try to find a supervisor. What is the best way to do it?

If you're not working yet I'm not sure whether you would be able to receive funding as I suggested below. Try contacting your local university hospital for advice.
