I am in the process to enrol on Phd programme. I have BSc(Hon) Nursing-Mental Health , BSc(Hons) Zoology, PgCert Human Nutrition and MSc Public Health with Speciality in Harm Reduction. I have spoken to my Undergraduate personal tutor who supervised my undergraduate dissertation and he is the PhD lead and he agreed to supervise me but his speciality is Sociology. I have also secured my second supervisor who also taught me in the Undergraduate Nursing and agreed to supervise me and his speciality is Dual diagnosis. I have been asked to write a proposal for us to kick start. However I need to secure funding too. I work full time and I want to pursue the Phd on part time. I have been to Research and Knowldege Skill Exchange Conference at UEL 28/06/2010 which was not of help. I was disappointed because the forum was used to address the grievance of UEL staff and I tend to call it staff meeting not a conference because conferences are meant to reach the larger audiance. European Research Funding presentation was the only programme I enjoyed. Can someone be kind to point me in the right direction. I want to use both qualitative and quantitative method in my PhD thesis. I will be working in subject area Drug & Alcohol addiction and mental illness.
I will be happy for advise. I am writing the proposal now and I need to secure fundings too. ANY ADVICE?
