I'm applying for jobs which require 3 references. I have my two supervisors, but who should I use for the 3rd? I feel bad asking people because they would actually have to write and send off a reference, rather than just be asked if I was called to interview. I have submitted my thesis but haven't yet had the viva. Who do people normally use?

Have you got any previous employers to use? your MSc supervisor? BSc tutor?

I used my supervisor, a boss from a previous job, and a BSc tutor. As long as they can comment on your qualities (especially if those qualities fit the job description) then it doesn't really matter.
