the word 'respectively'

S

hi everyone
when we write up our results, do we always have to say .....P= .003, respectively
I have so many numbers, so how can I always say this, or can I not say it although I mean it :-)
how often do we need to use "respectively"

thanks very much

I only use it when I have a list, followed by their numbers associated with each member on the list e.g. "hippos and giraffes scored 34 and 48 respectively"

But I wouldn't say "hippos scored 34 respectively and giraffes scored 48 respectively", I'd just say "hippos scored 34 and giraffes scored 48".

hi sneaks
so I still have to use it somewhere, like at the end of a paragraph?

You only have to use it if you are listing, say people, without the numbers next to them, and then listing the numbers later, in the same order. If that makes sense!
