So, I have a scholarship offer from Loughborough University in UK and I got Accepted in TU Graz in Austria.
The research topic is of my own and i found interested supervisors in both universities.

The choice is tough as I’m looking forward for a place to stay at after I finish my PhD studies and probbly work.

Any similar experience or recommendations?

Hi. If there is a visa that allows you to work in the UK after finishing your PhD, go for it.

With all the Brexit nonsense and associated uncertainty, in your place I would opt for Austria.

Graz al the way. I was lucky to do part of my PhD there. It is a fairly small city (around 200000 people) and there is a lot to do for the size of the city. Train travel is amazing in Austria so you can discover central Europe while living there. I don't know Loughborough but it seems to be in the middle of nowhere. Workwise: the UK is good for getting a quick job, whereas Austria is more bureaucratic but in return, you get much more stability. And if you want to go to the UK, you can always go after your PhD. I think the UK is good to come for 1-2 years to do some postdoc work but PhD wise, it does not seem too appealing (having to finish in 3 years is ridiculous)

Usually you get 4 years. If you honestly don't mind which country and it is all based on a job in the same country afterwards (not sure I understand the logic) then why not have a search for the kinds of jobs you'll be applying for post PhD and see which country has the most or best quality sounding jobs. The outlook may have changed somewhat in 3 years but it should give an indication.

Personally, I wouldn't be set on staying in the same place post PhD. I mean on what basis? You might decide you dislike the place you did the PhD , or decide you want a change. Either way, you'd just look for jobs elsewhere. Doing a PhD in x vs x location (of the two you've mentioned) isn't going to close doors.

Another thing you could do is maintain your link with the uni you don't choose. You could ask them to be a supervisor and do a study visit there for instance. Best of both worlds and never too early to start collaborations.
