Hi all

I only found this forum back in November and so wish I had found it earlier when I started - it is such a reassuring forum. I love the one goal thread and also other postings. I sometimes struggle though to find again useful information when it does later become important to where I am at. I think it would be great to have a separate thread with sub posts with the useful resources so many of you list. Like the BL ethos set of theses that can be download for free or the Tinkler and Jackson book so many people quote as useful for the viva. I find it hard to quickly look for things in all the text (which is valid in the context of individual postings). It does mean people when posting an answer would also need to go to this to post their links. Not sure if others agree with or can improve on this suggestion?

I have attempted to post the two short links I mentioned for future reference.

Thanks for that Cate, some other interesting links off that one as well. I think your links thread is a great idea.

I got the Tinkler and Jackson book today after seeing you mention it here. I know others mentioned it before but your post reminded me to get it out of the library. I hope to submit at the end of the summer. How sad is this - am planning an early night tonight especially to read chapter 10!!

This is a really useful link! I always forget where I found links. The blogs were all really good reads. They give a nice insight into PhD life :-) Now, I hope I don't lose this thread:$

On twitter, there's a hashtag #phdchat and the group gets together on twitter at 19.30 - 20.30 (GMT) on Wednesday evenings focusing on a topic that is voted for ahead of the discussion. It's proving really helpful and useful.

Fab thread Cate but just had a brainwave.. I must start by confessing to not being an IT whizzo but ..

what about someone who is an IT whizzo ;-) creating a postgradforum delicious account ( or other site) and putting all the useful links on there..  then we can all add to categories if we have the password and go to the site for links from wherever we are.  One for literature review, software, supervisors, despair ... you know all the usual topics :-)

Is this possible / feasible / sensible ?  sorry to gatecrash Cate.
