I am new on this forum and I am scheduled to start a fully funded PhD studentship in January 2009. I am not sure what I am getting into. Of course I know I am expected to read and do lab work but I would feel better if some one told me what life for an International student is like in Oxford and any other relevant information.

If you are not sure what you are getting into, you should make sure now. Life will be great later if you spend some effort now to find out about the students there, the culture, the professors in the department, etc.
