Hello
Does anyone had any websites which provide examples of the different types of structures of a social science PhD thesis?
Eg the types of chapters and in which order. I have completed most of my thesis -but having current (somewhat heated) discussions with my supervisors over where to place certain sections -thanks for your help anyway.
I recently completed my PhD in history and am waiting for my oral defence. As far as I know there is none available as there is no structure of a "social science PhD thesis" besides the general guideline.
Thanks for your replies. The problem I have is that my subject is half humanties and half science. So people will tend to follow either structure -so there is some heated debates on the way a thesis should be presented. I think another trip to library to search out some more PhDs is called for.
Freddy, the most important thing is how coordinated your chapters are in consolidating your arguments. Your research is 'MIDDLESEX', use both sexes (human and science)
