Small Conference Grants

E

Hi everyone, I'm currently at the final year of my PhD in Humanities and I will need a small research grant to attend a conference later this year. I've been searching but I haven't found anything relevant yet, which is weird. This will be the first time to apply for any type of funding, so I'd really appreciate any tips/advice/help. Many thanks!

Have you tried relevant humanities societies if they exist? We have a lot of these in Science, like these:

Also, your uni may provide via an alumni fund? We can have up £500 each as current post grad students.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes, firstly I have searched a lot for something relevant but I haven't found anything yet. Secondly, normally each post grad is entitled to a £250 Graduate School conference bursary and a £500 funding scheme at my University (that is, until recently). The problem with that is that the Graduate School has already sent an email saying that the conference bursary scheme is closed this year due to the volume of successful applications they've had. As for the faculty funding, I recently learned that it went to £250, which means that that's all I get this year from the uni. The conference I want to attend in October costs at least £400. I hope other people read the post, too. Thanks again for the time.
