Hi,
Wondering if any Norwegians (or others with similar tax arrangements) have come across this particular problem?
I have been awarded a tax-free stipend for a Phd at a UK university, but am being told by Norwegian tax authorities that as I am still a tax subject there (you stay a tax subject there up to 3yrs after moving abroad) they will tax me on that income, even though the UK government won't. Norway only grant tax free status to very particular education stipends. This doesn't seem quite right as the stipend amount is set with the idea of it being tax-free, but I can't seem to find a way around it. Any advice?
