Hi everyone,
I'm a practicing lawyer in Canada, I have obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Juris Doctor (in common law). I've been practicing for two years and I am hopeful to eventually enter the world of academia. I would like to pursue a PhD (either in law or a quasi-legal field of study).
Does anyone have any advice in regards to the equivalency of a JD in European (civil law) jurisdictions? I'm having a lot of difficulty finding anything online. I am trying to determine whether I should still pursue a masters degree prior to applying for PhD opportunities or if there is a route where I can go straight to the PhD route. Generally, I am looking at schools in Europe as I am a dual citizen.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
