and Miss Hopefull - really glad yr going ahead anyway. You might be skint for 12 months, but if it helps you get into a career you want and are committed to you its a small sacrifise in the long term!
i missed out on masters funding last yr, and my applic was messed up this yr by my dept not sending the PG results form. However, its completely possible to do a masters and work part time. Might be a bit annoying, and eat into any time you might want to do other stuff in, but entirely possible. Yes, you need to aim to get work handed in that represents the best you can do, but most people i know had to work and have still\managed to get marks at distinction!
