I am currently in my final year of a virology PhD. What is the best approach to landing a postdoc position before actual completion? I have written to a number of prospective mentors registering my interests of working with them (attached CV) and one said he just could not take me on while another said his department was closing down. The others have just not responded. Is the no response a "no" or should I follow that up? To what extent would changing your virus focus affect a signinig?
