I graduated a year ago with a 2.1, since then I've had over 6 months experience working in the field I'd like to do my further study in. I'm moving to a new university town soon, and would like to apply for further study there, but its a last minute move so I'm a bit late applying for courses. I don't think I can afford a full time taught masters, but it could be a long time before I could find a funded phd, if ever. Should I hold out or apply for a masters and risk being broke? What are my chances of a phd without and msc first? I'd really appreciate any advice!
