A project I am considering is being offered by someone who is a new academic and is just setting up his research group at the moment. Does anyone have any thoughts on how having a first time PhD supervisor would affect a PhD? And how much I should take this into consideration when deciding?
(Interested in both pros and cons)
I'm planning to apply for a PhD project, and contacted the supervisor a couple of weeks ago to let them know I'm interested, and they replied to basically acknowledge that.
Since then I've come up with some questions about the project - is it ok for me to now email them to ask? or is it weird as it is a while after the first emails?
(Sorry if this is a really stupid question, but I'm still new to the whole applying for PhDs thing..)
