1. Any of you know the ranking of Heriott Watt University, UK?
2. Does the ranking matters for PhD?
3. Can I assumed that if they offer me a research, all tuition fees are covered?
4. I know the US education system (60 credits after masters, 30 course + 30 research)) but not familiar with british system, how the system works if I have masters already in the same field?
5. How much on average the university fee for PhD?

Please help me finding a good school for PhD in Engineering. I want to research in Reliability / Asset Management / Robust Engineering etc.. (Mechanical/Industrial Engineering)
I have recently moved from Canada to gulf for a project and hopefully be here for 5- 6 years. UK is most convinient for me cause I would be able to see my supervisor frequently.
Like USA, after BS you have to complete 60 credits of course work and then 30 towards research. How in UK the system works for PhD? I have MS in Engineering and hold MBA degree as well from USA.
Please help me to find a good engineering school, which offers distance learning and may get some funding as well?
