I will probably need the luck you send out! Yeah some jobs require copious experience and qualifications that line the brim. Maybe once individuals get their foot in the door, that they get rehired on a seasonal basis. Even though I am classed as a professional, some posts are just hard to get in this field!

I never knew that McKeith was a quack... I thought that dieticians and nutritionists (especially NHS staff) are registered and that their professional qualifications are checked and verified by the awarding universities before they can practice. She must be absolutely rolling in the coffers by all of her books.

Well applying for any aid or development posts at present is hmm...horrendous (if I can put it politely). Either I am looking at the wrong places or I am not qualified with my bachelors. I think the consensus is for me to go back and do a specialised Masters (which type of human rights masters, i'm not sure). I have been sending speculative CVs to UNICEF et al, but to no avail! Also revising my French language is also a given. So this is an exercise in determination!

I'm not sure which degree type to select from in respect to human rights. I understand that 3 universities allow non law graduates to undertake the Master of Laws in Human Rights. An alternative is themore multidisciplinary MA of which covers the anthropology, philosophy,law and politics of the subject.
As a social worker I would like the chance to work overseas preferably in a child protection role and I feel that a human rights degree would definitely enhance my chances of working in a competitive environment; with the sparse positions that appear from NGO and international charities.
I guess I would just like to know which of the 2 degree types is more likely to be taken into consideration (i.e. have more 'clout')when my application gets read in the future.
