Hi everyone,
I'm having a huge self-inflected problem, where I'd gladly received guidance on.
I've started writing my thesis last summer and been given 1 year to complete by my university (deadline is tomorrow). I’ve finally finished my thesis in a rush the last three weeks. My problem now is that when I went to check with the “masters/post-grad”-office , that my thesis was never signed up by my supervisor. I did hand her the sing-up form for her to complete and hand-in, but this was never done.
The situation is now further complicated, that she had written me at the end of last year, that she will be graduating soon and would like to take ownership over my thesis. Due to me back then not replying instantly (I hadn’t made progress in months and was procrastinating as I started to work), she has since graduated (I can’t contact her through the university email anymore).
In the meantime, I tried contacting one of her supervisors who she cc’ed in the email conversation to show off my promising results. Nonetheless, I’m anxious and really stuck now on what to do as I’m unsure if anyone in the university department will take ownership of grading my thesis. They might have moved on to different topics.
It’s really been a struggle in trying to finish this thesis besides work and taking time off to ensure it’s getting done. I’ve put in more than 350+h in that. I am really lost here and would appreciate any word of advice or guidance regarding next steps.
