I approaching my qualifying exams, and what I am going to present for it (what I have been working on for the past 2 years) might be heading towards a dead end. So that would mean I might have to start something new (I have 2 more years left under my scholarship, and what I have done so far is not very substantial). Which would mean that my final thesis might be very different from my QE. How common is this amongst PhD student here?
I have heard stories from seniors where they had to change topics because they had to change supervisors, due to problems with them. But l would like to hear your stories, if you have such stories, or is majority of PhDs so smooth sailing? Haha.
Btw I am a new member here and found this forum looking for answers to my PhD extensive crisis. Hope to make some new friends here!
