I am applying in the PhD program in Sociology. The "Written Work" requirement states "One or more essays would be acceptable. It should be kept in mind, however, that our application assessors are looking at a high number of applications each week, so brevity might be considered desirable." I have a 21,000 word graduate thesis that I'm thinking of submitting. I'm pretty sure they're not gonna read the entire thing, but I was hoping they can select sections they want to focus on.
Can this work? Do you think they will accept it? Anyone out there have tried turning in their essays/long papers?
