2:2 B.Tech degree not acceptable for Master's in Canada

K

Hi,
I am IJIWOYE, Oyekunle, a Chemical Engineering graduate (2nd Class, Lower Division 2:2) from Nigeria. I initially intended to directly put-in for a Petroleum Engineering Master's degree program at one of UofA, UCal, Dalhousie, Memorial University, or University of Regina (all Canadian universities) but I visited their respective Web pages where, after perusal of the contents, I discovered I fall short in the "Minimum Academic Requirements from Other Countries" section (I have a Second Class, Lower Division [2:2]. Second Class, Upper Division is required[2:1]).

Someone advised I apply for a postgraduate diploma program in Petroleum Engineering and then transfer to an MSc. program after my first year. Please how feasible is this? Is there any way through for me? Is there a post-graduate program/course that I can take to stand me in better stead than I am, better stead as to make me eligible for formal application consideration?

Please I would really appreciate your help.
