I am now considering conducting my practice as a Trainee occupational psychologist to become a British Qualified Occupational psychologist, and I need some guidance and insight. My questions follow:
Based on the previous experiences or people you know, I was wondering if it is difficult to find and get accepted to an organization which except OP trainee?
Does anyone have any organizations in mind that you could suggest I apply to?
In your experiences how long (on average) does it take to complete ones practice? (I understand that this depends on where you conduct your practice and if you have fulfilled the BPS required criteria)
My background:
I have completed my Bachelors (honours) in psychology from a BPS accredited university programme in London, UK. I recently in June 2015 graduated from a work and organizational psychology 2-year MSc programme in Sweden. My questions assume that I have successfully become eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) and become a member of the Division of Occupational Psychology (DOP). I understand that these two steps are the first steps I have to make before being able to conduct my practice. I just want to understand the process of becoming an occupational psychologist in the UK and if it is worth taking this route.
