Hello all, i'm really sorry i didn't take time to introduce myself here (if there's such custom) But i guess i'll do it here before i ask my question. I'm Nick, living in Sri Lanka, 21, doing my first masters degree (Technology Management) in Staffordshire UK.
And here's my question. I am supposed to write a 1500 word reflection on my learning styles as a non-coursework assignment. In this, i'm expected to reflect upon two "Course Experiences" i had. Now what's unclear to me is what these so called "Course Experiences" are. Are they just some experiences i had in the Masters class? or something more technical? I tried googleing it, but all i got was a bunch of CES (Course experience surveys from universities to evaluate their program)
What do you think Course Experiences mean?
(Sorry if i'm posting the thread on a irrelevant section :D )
hi nick, welcome to the forum!
If this is related to your learning styles, then course experiences can be something like:
How the presentation/teaching/deliverance of the subject was perceived by you--that means, was the topic presented appropriately to suit your learning style--this could be the methods used by the lecturer--was there enough group discussion--did it inspire you--did it make you think a lot more--did it make you bored so you had to take a different approach to learning this subject
Also--did it make you think about your life? --- did you feel any relevance in that course in terms of your degree, was it usable etc.
--was the teaching style practical? -- was the information presented sufficient, was it clear...
--did you struggle to complete assignments? -- were the goals realistic???
:-)
However---the easiest way to go around this is to email your course lecturer or tutor--and ask him or her directly!!! That way, you get direct answers, and you know better what to write in your word reflection!
all the best
love satchi
Thank you very much Satchi :) I did ask my lecturer about this, but he didn't reply to my email yet. :(
The problem is, i have to submit this coursework by 11:55PM tomorrow.
Although i have already finished the first question and half of the second, i still am skeptical about the course experiences i have selected to mention in it.
1. Auditory learning has been my preferred sensory learning style. But the time spent on the module and the coursework has made me realize that i have to focus on more learning styles such as visual and kinesthetic.
2. I was categorized as an Accommodator according to Kolb's learning styles, where most of the times i learn using trial and error instead of thinking beforehand. The first coursework has made me understand that focusing more on doing can make me jump into things prematurely and reduce my chance for perfection.
Those are the experiences i have mentioned.
Do you think they are good enough?
Thank you
