Hi,
Ihave applied at various universities for a Master course. I havereceived some offers and I am still waiting for an answer from myprefered university. My prefered university will not reply before halfMay. The deadline for accepting the offer of my second choiceuniversity is 30 April. They are not willing to extend the deadline.
What happens if I accept this offer and at a later stage receivean offer from my first choice university? Can I also accept the firstchoice offer and then reject the other offer?
Has anyone faced a similar situation?
Thanks for any response
I rem danA/B replied to this thread b4. I will ring the university of 1st choice to ask their advice. This will speed em up a lil i guess or accept all offers and drop them later. you are not liable for anything until you join the course...
Thanks for your reply. I already have phoned both universities. The first choice university does not have their final assesment meeting before half May. The second choice university does not want to extend the deadline. I think I will accept the second choice and wait for the result of the first choice. I will drop the second choice if (or when!) i get an offer for the first choice uni. I do not really like to do this as I might block a place for somebody else. Are you sure that there are no consequences doing this?
People make rules to suit them m8. It does not mean these are fair. The distance buying consumer right applies to Universities as well.
Your subscription/purchase for that course will only start when you are physically there to start the course. If not you are not liable for droping it b4 start for all sort of reasons. I pursued two county court cases myself and the judge told the other party that 'its his job to decide whether the rule you had made was fair or not' so such a case will fall out of the court doors if pursued against you in the first 5 minutes.
