I have completed B.E in Computer Science and currently pursuing Masters in Software Engineering. I would like to do PhD in US or UK. Is it necessary to do MS there to be qualified for doing PhD there? or is

I don't think it's necessary to do a Masters in the US or UK before doing a PhD there. Hopefully someone on here will have advice for you.

@Reenie: thank u for ur suggestion,i have gone thru it n subsribed to updates frm one of it. As much i have heard,it seems like an Indian masters is not enough so have to do an MS there,aftr tat only can apply to PhD but im not sure abt it. Hoping tat someone wud give me the right advice!

Hi there,
If you have good grades already to an academic level of a BSc/BA you will not need the extra qualification. However you may find it an advantage to do an MSc/MA to increase your subject knowledge, this qualification would be good enough from an Indian University.
I know of at least one person with a BSc from an Asian country and who has got onto a PhD program. They appear to be managing very well.
