Hi everyone,
I'm in desperate need of advice. It's almost January, and I still haven't decided what I want to do a masters in! I am a journalist working in India at a reputed news organisation, but I started working straight out of post-grad journalism school at 21, and have desperately been feeling the need to study further. Problem is, my interests are: politics, history, philosophy, and english literature. Politics and history mainly of south asia, because that's the region I want to specialise reporting in, philosophy because I like it, and have wanted to study it also because i feel it will help me as a reporter; and finally, english literature because again - i've always wanted to.
But I've been struggling for months to find the right course that combines these interests. I'm 25 now, and really want to start my MA in 2016, because I worry it'll be too late after that. Maybe I'm just being paranoid about the age ... but really, I've been hunting for courses for months now, and I'm just getting more and more disillusioned. I'm pretty sure I'm past most funding application deadlines!
Could you please advise on how I should choose a masters? Any courses you know of that combine these topics? What universities should I be looking at?
Any guidance would be hugely helpful.
Thanks in advance!
