I'm currently studying for a masters in Philosophy ( Ethics, Culture and Global Change ) and intend to base my dissertation on bioethics. Does anyone have any advice regarding the next step with a view to working in that field. I know that there are intern-ship positions in the U.S. and Canada, but I would prefer to stay in Europe. Basically, I would like any advice on getting my foot in the door without going down the PHD route.
Your thoughts would be gratefully appreciated.
I imagine that it's not the sort of field that has nice neat career pathways that everybody follows. Have you spoken to your bioethics lecturers about how they go to where they are?
It's not entirely clear from your post which door you are trying to get your foot in to. But if you want something in the UK, the most obvious place I would think would be the Nuffield Council on Bioethics - maybe they do internships.
