I've been looking at masters degrees and exploring if I'd prefer a MRes or Msc

I get people work alongside and Msc as teaching is only on a few days a week but how do people do this with an MRes?? Most of the MRes research projects I've see are in big chunks over a few months (which I assume you dedicate the majority of your time to) so how do people afford this?
I've seen various funds but I don't want to rely on this and with a lot of masters going up in price, I don't know if I can even consider an MRes

Please help!!!! (also funding from family is not an option!)
