Hi.
I'm trying to analyse inter-rater reliability for my dissertation for my Pharmacy course. I'm a final year student and need help in order to convert the data file to syntax file and calculate Cohen's kappa.
please please please can someone help me with SPSS. i have no idea on what to do, i've setup the data but what next???
Sirah.
Hiya.
Sorry, I don't know how to do what you're thinking of, but there are some good books out there that might be able to help you. The main one that most people seem to swear by is Andy Field's book, Discovering Statistics Using SPSS. He's got a great writing style, very engaging and easy to follow. But it is an enormous book so can be a little daunting.
I don't know if someone else will come along with better suggestions for your discipline - the other books I've used have been psychology specific and I don't think they'd help with what you trying to do.
Sorry, that's not masses of help. But good luck with it anyway!
I've used kappa for inter rater reliability - you do it through the crosstabs function http://www.hss.bond.edu.au/stats/public_html/reliability/Kappa.htm
