Just a hypothetical question:

Let's say I start a graduate scheme with an accounting firm in september and my graduation ceremony would be in october for which i'd need two days to attend. would that be generally a problem in the uk?

It's usually not a problem. You'd have to give them the date as soon as you know it, and you may have to use annual leave for it.

This should be absolutely fine, just make your potential new employers aware of the dates/reason for the absence in advance. In any case, I am sure they wouldn't refuse attendance at a graduation ceremony! :)
