Hello there,
I've been planning on applying for an MRes degree in the university I am currently studying at. However, this programme/degree has only been introduced very recently. I am currently studying Biomedical Sciences and I really like the Faculty, the support given to students and the standard of research and teaching. Does it matter if the university has only introduced it recently?
I was also wondering, is the accreditation of the degree important for future job or PhD applications? The one I am planning on applying for doesn't exclusively say it is accredited, but the university has a respectable reputation.
Thanks in advance for any help!
The course being new can be good or bad, so don't read into it too much. If there are any current MRes students ask if you can talk with one and get their experiences, they will be your best source of information. Accreditation only matters if you want it for your career. Your university name will probably matter more unless you are going into a specific field that openly says that they want a certain accreditation.
