Hi, i have to write a letter of motivation for a Master programm in Integrated Urbanism & Sustainable Design, but i don´t any idea how to star to write it...
Could somebody please help me ? =)
i have to answer the follow questions:
Why are you interested in this specific program –
its content and its focus on Germany and Arab countries in the MENA region?
What special qualifications and skills did you gain through your previous academic career that are relevant to this program and that you can build on?
What specific professional experience do you have that will contribute to the aims of this program?
How do you hope to develop your career after receiving the masters degree?
Hi Shasebert.. this is going to sound a bit patronising but it's not meant to be - simply answer the questions honestly. It's your application to get on the programme and if you genuinely want to be on it and have a deep interest in the subject then that will shine through on your answers.
They are not looking for you to outline your dissertation they are simply trying to determine if you are the right candidate for the programme. I had to go through the same exercise to get on my MSc and stressed over it and when speaking to the lecturers after it was apparent I had no cause for concern.
Hi there!
A motivation letter, or cover letter in other words, should be personal, short (if possible), and to-the-point. Here are some tips that might help:
1. Start with who you are and what is the intent of writing the letter. Let the introduction be a summary of what the letter is all about. Include a line on why you like the course.
2. The next paragraph should talk about why you want to enroll for the program in that particular University (best thing about the university that makes you want to be a part of it).
3. In this paragraph, talk about your qualities (strengths) and qualifications and why you want to pursue XYZ course.
4. Conclude by reiterating your interest in pursuing the course in that particular university. Thank them for taking time out to read your letter and say how eager you're to hear from them.
These are some basic things. There are many templates online that help you with the outline.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
