Are my new boots too trampy?

R

Hi all, need some honest opinions here!!! I bought these boots recently - haven't worn them yet so there is still time to return - and I can't decide if I like them or not. Here are pics...

I wanted a pair of 'dressy' boots - but now I am thinking they may have crossed a line from dressy to hooker-ish... The name of the boots is 'Vice' which is also now starting to make sense :-$ Anyone I've asked has just said 'Noooo they're lovely!' but that may or may not be sincere.

So I need objective opinions!!! Thanks, :-)

OOOOhhhhh, they are lovely! Trampy depends what you wear them with, avoid any hemline that is too far above the knee, otherwise could be dodgy. If they had those buckles, a pointed toe and a stiletto heel, then yes, tramptastic, but I love ted baker stuff, he always does his stuff so it has a bit of class, so wear with pride! (They'd look amazing with a pretty tea dress - add a bit of edge so you aren't over the top girly!)

Hmmm I think that it depends where you wear them. A night out, sure, I think they are fine...but anything else, I think you might run the risk of being perceived as having crossed the line so to speak. If you are going to a conservative do or with a more conservative crowd, they are likely to think...hmmm...trampish or even perhaps dominatrix!

Dear Olivia, I think your cultural background might have influenced you here. In the US (except bigger cities or New York), I am sure they could be put in the SM corner, but in the UK, I don't think so.

Haha, I SO agree with Sleepyhead.

Wear them with something extra smart, feminine, fluid (not too tight, not too short). Like, looking best if you're not too curvy, a multicoloured silky dress, very loose. With a belt on the hips perhaps, and possibly a biker sort of leather jacket, but very feminine too, tight at the waist and all...

Hi All, thanks for the comments! I was worried that they could easily cross over into dominatrix territory olivia But I think it is just a matter of not wearing a leather catsuit with them lol!!! I'll save that one for another day

I have decided I will keep them - so now I embark on the search for the right dress to wear with them! For now though, they look good under jeans also so yay!!!

Thanks again
