Nothing ventured, nothing gained...
My son is off to Lund university in Sweden in mid-August for a two year Master's. Accommodation seems in short supply and he didn't manage to get uni-accommodation. Anyone have any ideas how to secure accommodation in the Lund/Malmo area? We've tried the usual websites and hubby and son went over for a couple of days at the beginning of June. One person they met suggested a tent but this option is reserved as a last-last resort :$
http://www.mah.se/english/Student/Housing/Student-Housing/ - hi have you looked at the pdf guide to housing on this page. That was the tip of a friend who did Erasmus in Malmo but says the situation is nightmarish. It's even worse over the bridge in Copenhagen I understand. That whole area has so many students and a real housing shortage. Oh she also says to google easyroommate sweden - apparently some people found shared places that way but to be very wary of scams.
That's a website that we managed to miss, thanks for that Bewildered, we'll check it out.
And you're right, it is a bit of a nightmare. No fees for EU nationals at postgrad level which is great but accommodation is proving nigh on impossible to find. Preference for accommodation is given to non EU people as they're the ones paying the fees which is fair enough trying to be fair about it! but where will my first born end up living? :-(
Appreciate the pointers, thanks again
