Hi,
I am currently working as an EHS Manager in an Engineering Company and was looking for some peoples opinions on a Masters course I am intending to do. At present I am mulling over whether to do a Pg/Dip & Masters in Renewable Energy and Energy Management or a Pg/Dip & Masters in Environmental Management both from the University of Ulster and the courses are both Distance Learning which allows me to carry on with my job!! I have certain Pros and Cons for each course ie:
For Renewable Energy Management
Pros: I am really interested in this subject, there will be ample jobs for this in the future.
Cons: I am not working with any renewable energy at present which might mean ill have to start at the bottom of the ladder again.
For Environmental Management:
Pros: I have a great interest in the area, I can see a lot of jobs in this area in the future. It gives you a great all round game when job hunting and I already work in the area so I wouldn’t be starting from scratch.
Cons: There will be a lot of Environmental managers out there in the future, im not sure how many companies will still be in Ireland to be Managed.
It is a scientific based course where my background is Engineering.
Really I am looking for peoples opinions because at present I am in limbo on which course to choose. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
