Hey guys,
I'm currently struggling to get any work done and am spending a fair amount of time listening to love songs (the two things might be interrelated.) Anyhow, while I can normally accept a bit of slippage, I'm on fieldwork at the moment and really need to motivate myself and stop listening to that kind of music.
So - this post is a complete shot in the dark - I was wondering if anyone had any songs that motivate them. Either research specific (highly unlikely, I know) or just generally.
Cheers,
Slizor
Hrmph. I currently have this in my head - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLexgOxsZu0 . It's like the opposite of what I need, although it is a happy song.
'I Will Survive' is indeed a good one. I find litsening to Queen can really motivate me. I have been known to put on 'The Show Must Go On' by Queen when I get rejected for funding and shout along with it ;-) Don't forget 'We Are the Champions'. Queen have lots of motivational stuff I think. 'We Will Rock You' (Fast live version). 'Three Little Birds' by Bob Marley.
I will survive is a really good one. And when push comes to shove, when everything seems so dark and there seems to be a no way out, oh my, God can explain. Have a nice day/evening everyone :-)
Yes, now that you've mentioned, Queen has some motivational titles :-)
I listen to classical music while I work - but not 'old' classical music as I used to be in quite a lot of orchestras and end up mime-playing along haha! So I tend to listen to the scores from movies. At the moment its the scores from new moon and twilight :$ :$ :$ :$
I often listen to songs that I listen to in the gym (maybe not the very energetic, mental ones!) but you know, motivational songs that keep me going! Also, I try not to listen to songs with too deep a meaning, otherwise I concentrate on the lyrics not my studying! :-)
hi slizor
so have u found your choice of motivational music? :-)
I like to run my youtube playlists
I put all sorts in them. I like especially music written by Dan Fogelberg, and also played by Bob Acri.
When my playlist has all sorts of music, the feel of it changes, and it helps to keep me going.
