Trying to make plans for my birthday (soon), but find that a colleague has already invited everyone to his one-year-olds birthday party the same day! Upstaged by a one-year-old. Must get in there sooner next year (or resign myself to sharing jelly and ice cream with kids every birthday - though actually, that could be quite fun).

I'm assuming the kiddies party will be during the day. Couldn't you carry on celebrations into the evening (i.e. invite everyone who you know that is attending the kids party), and continue the 'jelly and ice-cream/kids' theme (... e.g. vodka jellies, etc)?

I agree with Goods. People without kids will want to leave the kid's party as soon as possible anyway.

Hmmm, may do that...assuming everone's not too tired by toddler antics.
