My computer keeps on wanting to download Security Update for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 (KB970892)
But it keeps failing and gives error code 737D
Does anyone know how I can stop this happening, otherwise my pc is continually trying to update which is very annoying!
Hello,
This seems to be a known issue that a few people are having (although not enough people for Microsoft to re-release the patch). Here's a link to a tech support forum:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/sqlsetupandupgrade/thread/73bbe749-2cfc-4d2e-a48c-a084a52b8801/
Someone has posted a fix towards the bottom of the page which will hopefully work for you.
Good luck!
ok this hasn't gone well. i tried the fix and then got overwhelmed by computer jargon so I thought, 'I'll just uninstall the whole SQL server thingy and then reinstall'. now I can't find the sql server to download - I don't even know what it is and if I even need it. Got a feeling I did something very bad!
