Hi guys, going ridiculously off-topic here, I'm just wondering what people's opinions of the world cup are? will you be watching?, if so, how much?, or are you one of those who can't stand football and everything to do with it.
Personally I shall watch the England games (though religously avoid buying St George cross themed tat) and some other games, although shall only be able to watch evening & weekend games due to work. Your opinions please
Won't be watching - will take advantage of shops being quiet.
(But husband and 11 year old son will be - last time my son then 8 threw a complete stop because he wasn't allowed to stay up until 10.30 on a school night to watch (i think) Switzerland vs Ukraine which my husband wasn't even watching!):-)
I won't be watching it. I'm not a football fan, and I'm not in England, so not caught up in the whole thing, and trying to stay out of it. I'm much more looking forward to Wimbledon at the end of the month.
Hubby booked a week off work - I thought for our anniversay - but turns out its for the world cup :-s
he'll be watching EVERY game. I would want to watch the better games, i.e. brazil, spain, england. BUT he'll want to watch those round his dads, so will be no fun - I'd rather watch them in the pub.
With the match fixing issues in almost every form of game, I do not want to engage deeply with my heart in any international competition. But I remember in 90s I almost watched every game with passion including football and cricket. However, I might go through a few games just for Ladbrokes and Willhill.
ah yes, I'm quite bad at gambling, I can't help myself. Might put a few £ on holland perhaps - I enjoy the bets that have really long odds usually and the funny ones. Paddy Power are doing ones about what the comentators will say.

M&S foodhall have a fab range of world cup tat: little world cup cakes, altough I think they missed an oppurtunity to produce 'world cup-cakes', how fab would they be?
I won't watch though, because I just don't get football, although I may purchase some M&S goodies.
Lol, the world cup tat is just wonderful!!! I'm planning on having St George's flag hanging from my windows, lots of those car flags fluttering from my car, a world cup t-shirt to wear to campus, and now I know of the world cup food I'll be going to M&S to buy some ;-) I might even paint my face with St George's flag - woohooo - football hooliganism here I come!!!
Meanwhile, back on planet earth eugh, lol lol - I must admit though, last time it was on our local town hall (big victorian edifice) had the flag flying - not sure it was for the world cup though - and it looked so pretty against a beautiful blue sky, I got all patriotic!
