2 decimal places

S

hi everyone
if i have 0.002 but I need to make it in 2 decimal places, what do I do??
how do i put this in a table of results when everything else is 0.78 or 0.22
I just have to put 0.002 then, is this right because can't make it any smaller
thanks

B

0.00?

D

In this case, yes, I would put 0.002 - it's acceptable to do so if your 2 dp don't make sense.

A

Hi Satchi
I had this problem too, but my supervisor suggested I just get round it by putting <0.01 in, so all the decimal places are the same and it avoids having to use the exponential notation, which I hate seeing in tables.

P

I'm with Algaequeen. <.01 is what I use.

S

hi everyone
thank you so much for your replies
this <0.01 is ok also for correlation tables?

P

I think so. It's used often enough for p values so correlations should be okay too I think.

R

Hi Satchi,

I think that mathematically it should be 0.00.

If you want a visible figure, you can do the >0.01, yet then you should use this for all small numbers in your table.

R

Oops,

sorry, should be <0.01.

S

hi everyone
thanks very much
really appreciate it

A

Hi Stachi, yes it's grand for correlation tables, that's what I needed it for initially actually! :)
