One thing that puts the wind up me a bit with all this sitting around and studying lark, is that I'm starting to get dull aches in my legs and backside, and to my absolute horror I've noticed loads of little spider veins appearing!
(I've titled this a girly topic, but I'm pretty sure that some men may get this problem too, so guys, feel free to comment.)
The thing is, it scares the bloody hell out of me because some people say that they will disappear on their own after some time, but others say that once they appear they will never go away! Which is it?! Will they stay or will they go?
(Don't really wanna say it... but a thin blue one has started to appear on my face, so I'm really hoping they do disappear coz although it isn't that noticeable at the moment, I'm scared that it might get a lot worse.)
Is there anyone out there who also gets this (apparently only cosmetic problem), and if so, what do you do about them?
Are spider veins the same as thread veins?? A friend of mine had one on her eyebrow and she had some kind of injection, it may have been electrolysis actually. It was painful and it took a few treatments to work, but it stops them from coming back. You can sometimes get them treated in beauty salons, the one I go to has someone come in once a month to treat people.
I guess they're a circulation thing, maybe exfoliating/body brushing could help?
hi cobweb I also have veins, I dont know if they are spider or not; they appear behind my knees, probably varicose veins and they don't go away :-(
Years ago I wore a mini skirt and rode pillon (foolish) on my friend's motorcycle so the mini skirt was hiked up my thighs and very tight there, because of that I also have those little veins--its been more than 10 years and they are still there!
I think for the one on your face, it could be "fixed" by those skin specialists, I think they have laser treatment for that but I'm not sure.
I dont have any veins on my face but I do have periodical acne. I dont do anything about the veins on my legs, nothing I can do, I guess. But they dont stop me from wearing shorter skirts.
Another thing I would suggest is if you could lift your feet up or rest them higher when you are seated. This is what I try to do but sometimes not possible at my workstation.

so sorry Cobweb, that sounds serious. maybe try sitting on a pillow while you work to reduce the pressure and pace a bit every hour to improve circulation.. exercise as well.
never seen anything like it where am from or even here. getting checked may be a good idea. then maybe they can stop them before they go all over. don't worry am sure medics always have a solution.
wishing you respite from this on top of work..
