Argh!
Having redrafted a paper to send to my supervisors tmrw before submission to a journal I have now become aware of a omission in my paper. At least I found out now (myself) - I would be red faced otherwise. But now I have to stay up all night and correct. Argh.
:-(
No sleep for Chris.
Hi Chris,
see it as something positive that you found out now. Look at it as light at as the end of the tunnel, yet that will already be tomorrow! You can then reward yourself for having finished something, and something which you are proud of!
(by the way I heard on the radio that there is now a machine which makes that you feel refreshed after 3 hours sleep only)
You're both right there.
Although I'll have to change the title, and the focus of the paper my overall argument isn't badly damaged. In fact it may be slightly more robust if I change it to encompass the omission. But it is just annoying - I can't decide if I'm including it because it would be 'bad' scholarship not too, or because I'm scared of getting caught out!!!
Hi Chris, hope you managed to get it all changed in time. I think it is always better to find and amend it yourself. It is horrible if soembody comes back to you and says: excuse me, are you being serious with this?
No, was just a joke. Wondering whether you would spot it ???
Good luck with the submission.
No sleep. Restructured paper and rewritten huge chunks of paper. Must write conclusion and refootnote. About four hours work left.
So tired.
Can't almost be bothered any more - I never want to write about subject X ever again. Ever.
I emailed it to the sups at 9am this morning (well, 9.15) - it was supposed to be with them last thing yesterday but I was waaaayyy to fatigued to footnote and reference properly. So I treated myself to four hours sleep and did that at 5am this morning. But it is done! Thank you!
I'm only doing light reading today and I shall probably doze off to radio four in the afternoon....
Why do this to myself? Answer: Because I can't organise myself and there isn't enough time in the day!
