I need your insights on a few issues. I am rounding up my PhD now, but I suffered from a lot of problems during the whole process. My confidence particularly took a beating when my daughter developed a serious illness. My funding is now finished and I am due to submit my thesis this week for examination. I am going to be examined by a top expert in my field. I have never thought my supervisors thought anything good about me, so I am surprised they would want me to be examined by somebody of that calibre. Do you think this might be a way for them to give me a hard time, or what do you think. Please I need your insights on this. Anybody ever being in a similar situation? What was the outcome? Thanks.
