Dear Colleagues
I am in the process of developing my proposal. My study aims at developing a nurse practice model to assist adolescents. My plan was to use adolescents accessed through local schools and the nurses from clinics within the catchment area.
The reason behind this is to get the nurses ideas on what they coud do better shifting from doing things the traditional way i.e moralising and preaching to adolescents in the old ways ladden with negative attitude. on the other hand consult adolescents as well to get their insight into how nurses could help them. probably they will highlight what they would like nurses to do to help them in a much more positive fashion to build their self-esteem and self-confidence.
i thought it is fair for adolescents to have their say. For a long time interventions have been planned for adolesents without them. I attended a lot of workshops where youth and adolescents say it in uncertain terms that they are sick and tired of adults planning without them. In this case my innovation would be roping adolescents to be involved in giving input to development of a nurse practice model aimed at assisting them.
What do you think dear colleagues?
Please give me guidance? your contributions are always valued.

Sounds like a good idea. Two populations will help to contextualize the findings. Will you interview nurses and adolescents?
I have a similar query...
I'm going to be running focus groups with healthcare professionals and interviews with patients and would like to know if anyone has experience of analysing FG data and interview data and what the potential pitfalls are.
